What a fantastic start to the new year in Y3/4!
All the children look so smart and are raring to go. The Viking projects that have come in so far have blown us all away. So much work and creativity has gone into them. Each child has presented their protects to their peers with confidence and we have learnt so much already from each other. Please keep them coming if you haven't brought yours in yet. They are going to be part of a large display in the hall for all to see.
Thank you for the completed swimming letters.  All the children worked very hard during their first lesson and I can't wait to see the rapid progress that will take place over the next 9 weeks.
As I'm sure you will know our main topic this half term is Vikings. The children will be immersed into the world of Vikings. We are really excited about joining them on their learning journey of discovery. They will look at who were the Vikings? Where and when did they live? Viking life, Gods, boats, houses, invasions and lots more.  We are beginning a new topic in Science on Sound.  In RE we are following 'Come and See' and our topic is People- The family of God in scripture. The children will take part in a weekly music lesson from an expert musician.  More detailed information about this term's work is on our website in the Y3/4 section.
This week in Maths we will look at place value and in English we will begin to look at a variety of Viking Myths and Sagas as well as reading our class novel 'How to Train a Dragon'.  The children can bring their own copy of the book into school if the wish for English lessons but they do not have to have a copy, it is optional.
This Friday is non uniform day and any donations sent in are for the Harvest Festival.

Thank you so much for your support so far this year with the Viking projects and those parents who were able to attend the induction meeting.  The information from the meeting will be up loaded onto the website for you to read.
