Thank you so much to all the parents for attending the parents meetings. It was lovely to meet with you all and share with you the progress your child is making and praise all their hard work. Remember we are always available; drop in day is every Wednesday.
English
Last week the children focused on word classes and commas in lists. We continued to develop on comprehension skills when reading short pieces of texts. This week we will continue with comprehension skills and grammar with apostrophes for possession, omission and the common mistake with it's and its.
Maths
In Maths Y3 revisited column subtraction. Y3 will begin shape this week. Y4 began a topic on shape, looking at the properties of 2D shapes including angles, perpendicular lines and area. They will continue with shape this week: focusing on angles.
Science
In Science through our topic on States of matter we will plan and carry out a fair investigation on gases; the children will then analyse their results and write conclusions.
Topic
This week the children looked at propaganda posters and their meanings and the campaigns they were promoting. The children really enjoyed this and made an excellent job of creating their own posters; they understood the need for eye catching posters and memorable catch phrases
We will continue with our topic of WW2 looking at the evacuation campaign and the effect this had on so many children.
Well done to Rhys Davies who shared his project work which included an identity book and ration book from WW2
