Welcome back to the Summer Term

We have so much to do and look forward this term.

This week...

English:

This week we will be looking at poetry.  The children will learn a variety of poems and explore their different forms through performance, role play and story mapping.  They will use talk for writing to invent their own poems based on ones they have studied.  They will analyse the poems to develop their comprehensions skills.  They will complete their spelling assessment tests and bring home weekly spellings and English homework.

Maths:

Y3 will be practising timetables to aid multiplication of bigger numbers.

Y4 will be studying data handling, creating tally charts and interpreting data from a variety of graphs and charts.  They will have homework relating to this on Friday and x tables to learn for the 6 and 12 x tables and division facts.

Topic:

We will begin our topic on Water this term. The children have two weeks to produce a project to present to their class on the subject.  It can be on the water cycle, rivers, oceans, pollution, reversible changes of water, rainfall etc.  The projects can be in the form of a poster, model, written report, power point or report from a trip or visit.  Please hand in on Friday 6th May.

Please contact your child's class teacher with any medical updates for the trip to Kingswood or for any other information or questions. The trip is from Wednesday 27th April to Friday 29th April.

There is a FOSV cinema evening on Thursay 21st April 3-5pm.
